Our mission is to give the hunter what we feel is a TRUE 100% South Dakota wild pheasant hunt. In saying this, 90% or better of the lodges that are claiming a wild pheasant hunt are actually releasing birds and are still calling their hunts "South Dakota wild pheasant hunting!"

We do not, have not, and will not ever release pen raised birds. Now in saying this, we harvested nearly 2,500 wild roosters in 2003 and more the year before. We attribute this to the great habitat, knowing how to hunt the great habitat, good communication skills between the hunters, guides and great dogs.

We want people to know that if a South Dakota wild pheasant hunt offers you more than the legal bag limit of three birds a day, they hold a preserve license and you are shooting at birds that you could have killed at your local hunt club back home.

Now knowing that, we hope you to incorporate that we are taking hunters on a true wild South Dakota pheasant hunt. The hunters will see virtually hundreds of birds in a day, but the trick is getting those birds cornered into good shooting distance. We feel great population and good habitat get you nothing without guides who know how to hunt. We stress safety first right along with fun.

Other services provided are: Cleaning, freezing and packaging of your pheasants.

Transportation is included from Huron or Sioux Falls airports and between our lodge and the hunting grounds. Blaze orange and shooting glasses are provided.

We provide 2 boxes of shells (one for clays and one for hunting). We have shells on hand for either 12 gauge or 20 gauge Please let us know if you are shooting something different so we can have shells on hand to accommodate you.

We do have shotguns in various lengths and gauges that you are welcome to use. For exclusive use of the lodge during the hunting season we require payment of 10 hunters. We are a one stop shop and I assure you there will be no extra costs added to your bill upon arrival or departure.

Not included: license which we can handle for you upon arrival or you may purchase online at www.sdgfp.info, tipping (optional), or if you would like the birds sent UPS or Fed Ex, you will be responsible for shipping cost.

All non-hunting guests are $350 per day/night. The pheasant season opens the third Saturday in October and runs until January 1st. A 50% deposit is required within 10 days of booking the hunt.

We are located near the town of Wolsey, SD. Wolsey is on HWY 281 in east central South Dakota. Air transportation is provided from Sioux Falls or Huron, SD at no cost to you. Airport transportation from any other cites will be additional costs. Sioux Falls airport has most major airlines. Huron has a great airport/runway system as well as some small commercial flights daily. Call Skyways Travel in Huron for further flight information at (605) 352-9262.
